A useful form collects enough information for the next discussion without turning the first enquiry into a full technical assessment.
Separate essential and optional fields
Start with contact details, the requested service and a short requirement description. Add quantity, application or target date only where they guide the response. Make uncertain information optional so early-stage customers can still contact you.
Explain input and errors
Use visible labels, examples and clear required markers. Preserve entered text after validation errors. State supported attachment types and limits before upload, and provide another contact method if the customer cannot share a file through the form.
Verify delivery and follow-up
Test successful submissions, invalid addresses, large files and network interruption. Confirm where data is stored and who receives notifications. Display a genuine success state only after the server accepts the submission, with a clear next-step expectation.
