Internal links should help a reader continue a useful journey. Place them where the next page answers a related question.
Connect learning to decisions
A guide can link to a relevant service, and a service can link to an approved project showing the application. Use descriptive anchor text so the destination is predictable. Avoid adding the same large link block to every article regardless of subject.
Make important pages reachable
Use section indexes and navigation to expose valuable content. Check for pages present only in the sitemap with no contextual route from the site. Keep links aligned with language and page identity. A related BM article should normally open the BM version of its destination.
Maintain links as content changes
Check broken destinations and unnecessary redirect chains during publication. Update links when pages are consolidated and remove recommendations that no longer fit. Review the most important user paths manually. The goal is a coherent information structure, not reaching an arbitrary number of links per page.
