Separate setup and recurring costs

Setup may include a controller, modem, antenna, protected power supply, enclosure, API integration and commissioning. Recurring costs can include connectivity, messages, hosting, monitoring and support. Ask which items are owned, licensed or subscription-based. Compare quotations over the same operating period and expected volume.

Price the operational requirements

A single-site alert and a multi-site roster system require different work. Identify delivery reporting, acknowledgements, audit retention, bilingual templates and failover requirements. Include access for maintenance and replacement parts where relevant. Avoid comparing a basic send-only gateway with a managed escalation platform as if their deliverables were identical.
