An informal technical evaluation, described separately from customer deployment experience.
Exploring position data from a GNSS development board
Our technical exploration includes a SparkFun GPS-15136 board based on the u-blox ZED-F9P receiver. The informal exercise used vehicle-position data without RTK corrections to become familiar with the board and its behaviour.
This was an experimental activity rather than a commissioned vehicle-tracking deployment. No formal accuracy results were recorded for publication. Its role in this section is to describe the team’s evaluation experience and the questions that would need to be addressed before a production application.
Define the accuracy requirement before selecting a solution
The ZED-F9P platform supports RTK-related applications, but receiver capability and achieved position accuracy are different matters. A project specification should identify the required accuracy, operating environment, antenna installation, update rate and whether a correction source will be used.
Share the type of asset, operating area and position requirement when discussing a GNSS integration with Baztech.
Questions about this integration
Does this experiment demonstrate centimetre-level accuracy?
No. It used no RTK corrections and did not produce a formal accuracy dataset.
Can it become the starting point for a tracking project?
It can inform an evaluation scope. A customer application would still require its own hardware selection, communications, software and validation requirements.
