Sending meter information over a cellular connection
Baztech’s integration experience includes a PUSR USR-G771-E used to send EASTRON energy-meter information to a server over a 4G mobile network, with MQTT used for server communication. The application focuses on transferring the required meter data to the remote platform.
The cellular connection supports the transfer of meter information from the site to the remote application. Identifying the actual meter and modem configuration keeps the connection method and integration requirements clear.
Define the transfer requirement
For a similar installation, share the EASTRON meter model, serial-interface details, available documentation, reporting interval and MQTT server requirements. The integration must establish how meter information is acquired and represented at the destination; a communication link alone does not define the meaning of every meter register.
Baztech can assess the equipment, configure the agreed communications and support the connection to a customer application.
Questions about this integration
Does this application require Wi-Fi?
The described remote connection uses 4G. Any local network requirement should be assessed separately.
Can an existing meter be connected?
The exact interface and protocol need to be checked first. Provide the meter documentation so Baztech can assess a suitable data-collection and forwarding scope.
