This board is at schematic-development stage. The described functions are planned and remain subject to implementation and testing.
Exploring simpler field configuration
Baztech is evaluating the RAK11161 breakout board as part of development work for a future custom board based on the RAK11160 module. The proposed application combines RS485 sensor connectivity, a 12V sensor output and configuration through a Bluetooth Low Energy application.
RAK11161 is the breakout board used for evaluation; RAK11160 is the module intended for the custom design. Keeping those names distinct helps customers understand which hardware is being assessed and which component is planned for the resulting board.
Current development scope
The custom board is at schematic stage. The intended BLE workflow would allow supported RS485 settings to be configured through an application. Making configuration more convenient is a design objective that still requires implementation and testing.
For an application enquiry, provide the sensor model, communications protocol, configurable parameters, power requirement and the conditions in which technicians will configure the node. These requirements guide both the electronics and the configuration interface.
Questions about this integration
Is the BLE configuration application available?
It is part of the planned development scope and is not described here as a released application.
How does this differ from the RAK3172 concept?
Both concepts target RS485 sensor integration. The RAK11160 concept additionally targets a BLE-based configuration experience; the final specifications remain subject to development.
